I was sitting in a bookstore killing time yesterday when I accidentally overheard a conversation between an English professor and a young man I assume was either his student or his graduate assistant. The two of them were apparently collaborating to write a series of science fiction books which they intended to publish themselves by way of a web page. I had not heard of that particular one, but I am aware that Amazon has a service for their Kindle ebook reader. I really liked that idea, especially since I have written a couple of books which would be of limited interest to mass audiences, but of great interest to small groups of people interested in the history of North and South Carolina. My book on the music of Wilkes County has been of absolutely no interest to even local publishers, but I am guessing that a fair number of people would be interested in downloading it for a couple of dollars.

That’s not what we do, at Read Featured Books. What we do, is we cover the topical material that’s of import to all people, but this material isn’t necessarily considered readily accessible.
